Bio-Technology

1/ Artificial arms.
2/ It can grap, take things, hold things,.. a very smart and functional technology. It helps people whose arms don't work probably after accidents get their ability back with this arms.
3/It may harm/hurt other people when that person haven't learn to to control it, or when the arm go crazy and out of control.
4/When the technology is developed and so are the artificial arms and other Bio-Technology, human might start cut themselves up and replace them with technology. I think you should only replace it when it is can't function because your body part is you, mother nature gave it to you, you should not replace it just because you have something work better.

Future Technologies

            Right now, life of human being is so much easier than it is 10 years ago, technologies made the most changes. Technologies we used at home, in the future I  think it would be all about convenience, saving time, and safety. With variety of technologies to help us in the future, human being would be a bit lazy since technologies did all the work. The development of transportation in the future would form some health problems because since its easier of get anywhere you want, their won't be anymore of physical activity, or exercises. And of course, with the positive side, economies would be better because, transportation make business and trading around the world easier. Human don't have to do much at home either so they might have more time to do work.

Scrip for My City Podcasting

Selena: Hi, my name is Selena, I am an 8th grader and I’m from the
Taipei-the capital city of Taiwan.
Taiwan is slightly bigger than Belgium and 7,948.38 miles (12,791.67
km) away from Washington D.C. And these are the fun facts about my
city.

1/ Taiwan has the world’s fastest elevator
(going through 84 floors in 37second)
The elevators are pressurized to make sure your ears won’t pop too
drastically. These elevators are located in the 101 Tower which is now the
second tallest buildings in the world after Dubai.

2/Taipei is a sleepless city. Its midnight and its even crowndier than it is
in the morning. Clubs, night market, shopping malls, theaters are always
available. You can wake up in the middle of the night, walk out the street
and everything seems like 7PM.

3/Now let’s get to know a little bit of histories here.
Different from Cuba, Myanmar and Vietnam, Taiwan is a democratic
country. Freedom and democracy are more than just slogan’s there.
“The Republic of China (or Taiwan), founded on the Three Principles
of the People, shall be a democratic republic of the people, to be
governed by the people and for the people”. Said by the first article of the
Constitution National.
Taiwan was also emerged as one of the most powerful economies in the
Third World after the Cold War.

PROJECT REVIEW



Firstly, I will talk about the use of the design cycle. The design circles helps to break problems into smaller parts that are easy to solve. I applied it to most of the projects. It saved time! It would be a lot easier when you state the problem, gather ideas, select a solution, build it and present. In these projects, we used Roller Coaster Tycoon as a theme park where I am the manager; I had to make leaflet, poster and advertisement to let people know about this park. I also have to managing the loss and profit of the park. With skills of using Excel, I can put numbers on, using formulas to calculate the incomes of foods/drinks and tickets fee. Therefore, I can know whether the park has made a profit or loss.
I designed the poster on a piece of paper like a plan so that I will get an idea of how my poster is going to look like. I used the design cycle to break it down to smaller problems then I started to design it on software with the help of my friends. As I said above, I got my first draft done and asked others to comment on it. I changed my poster a lot after that. Most of the things didn’t even appear on the plans. I applied the skills of using Paint.net and PWP during the process of making this poster. I tried to follow the elements of design. And I think I got 4 over 5 for that because this poster is not very attractive to young kids and I think I missed some prices details. In my leaflet, I did the same thing. I made a sketch of how this poster looks, I made it look simple then add more details into it. I’ve got ideas from friends, and I changed it a little bit. When I started designed on the software, I got a lot of problems because many of it just doesn’t work the way I wanted it to. That’s why I have to re plan how my leaflet looks. I choose the background color of this leaflet was green because I think it represented a green friendly environmental park. I putted other features on it later to make sure I won’t have any problems because of the layers. I asked other to comment on my first draft and I realize I made the same mistake as the poster. This leaflet is not attractive and not very useful to young children. That’s why my last draft was looks completely difference than the first plan. My skills of using Excel improved during the spreadsheet project. I was like the manager of this park who control the finance. I had to calculate the total incomes of the park using the formulas. Cell formatting was where I could decorate the cell with colors and layers this made my spreadsheet looks better. I also used hyper link where I connect an object to another sheet which made it more professional. Being a manager, I had to predict the number of guest would come to the park because this number would help to calculate the incomes. This amount of people might change the number of prices of foods and drinks. Goal Seek is an example of skill I used to change this number to reach a target. All I did was put the cell I am looking to change in “Set Cell”, what cell value do I want to change to in “to value” and what cell needs to change for my number in “changing coal”.
I’ve learned a lot during this quarter, from managing park, controlling the incomes and making sure the park is making profit to how to design a perfect poster/leaflet for advertising.. Though I think I could improve by following along the rubric because now I know that’s the only way to get full points. I missed too many details. Every object we made was to view a specific group of people, specific audience because we can’t just make it for everyone. I think I used my time wisely during class. I posted my work on my blog and get others to comment on so that I was able to fixed it at home.

Write about your favorite memory at Cat Tien.

I remember most when I and my group have to walk 10 km to the crocodiles lake through the forest. At first, everyone was walking one behind another. But then, some were already there and some are very behind. I was quite lost with two other people. We were walking with no one in front of us and no one behind. All we did was walking forward, until we saw a few people behind calling us. Again we all together keep walking forward. I feel like 24 hours already past. I kept on walking and walking, everyone was tired and thirsty. I regret I didn't bring many water.Finally we were there but i couldn't see any crocodiles.We sat inside a house and rest for twenty minutes then we made another 5km journey back to the hotel.

My Holiday

During holidays, my parents would always take the whole family on vacation. We went to the beach, lake, mountain and many other places. This time, I was just so surprised to know that my parents have no plan for this so we stayed home instead. It doesn't mean that I stayed home all the time. I went to my cousin house, so yes, I'm in a house with a bunch of little kids. I ignored them and talk to my friend on the phone but with all of sudden, my little sister was running by, accidentally push me and my cell phone dropped. The screen was broken. I was so angry that I yelled at her and she cried. The other kids came and they all staring at me with their puppy faces.Some of them were actually crying. I was feeling like I'm over reacted. I felt so sad for what I just did, like I shouldn't have done it.And I apologized to her.
I also went to my friend's house, she has like eight difference types of perfumes. I don't know why she has so many because I only have two types and that's all I have. I mean like Wow! Eight, that's a lot.
